Sully’s character introduction is much more enjoyable than the film. He’s much more comforting at first than how I felt watching him interact with Maren.

The first chapter is already very intense and deeply reflective on the unbearable weight of life. It reminds me of Adorno’s reflections of Hegel in “Dwarf Fruit.”
“Today self-consciousness no longer means anything but reflection on the ego as embarrassment, as realization of Impotence: knowing that One is nothing.”
