When we engage in the great privilege and joy of prayer with a "leftovers" mentality, the likelihood of spiritual blessing is slight. pag 70
again, all that I hear is conditioning prayer, God Will answer me only if I pray in a certain "perfect" way, which Is nowhere found in the bible (the author doesn't cite bible verses when he says this kind of bold statements) 🙃, more red flags in the rest of the chapter

I feel this book is better seen as an essay about what the author thinks* not a profound analysis of bible verses abt this topic, i think they’re far better books abt this topic

I don’t know man, something feels off, I believe the focus shouldn’t be on us when we pray,I think the power of our transformation is not in the prayers themselves, but in The One who answers our prayers (I’m really struggling to understand the author)

The author stated:“Paul formerly Saul” as if implying a change of his name= Paul didn’t get a change of his name, Acts 13:9, Paul had two names due to his Jewish and Greco-Roman cultural context. Greco-Roman name= Paul-Jewish / Hebrew name=Saul
I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt, cause Saul decided to use Paul due to the context of his preaching to the gentiles. That might be a correct use of “formely”
