Different tastes for different people. She's a fantasic writer but this is for people who care about a certain time period with some fantasy thrown in. I miss when she created her own fantasy. :(

In my opinion, yes. Besides the unicorn and talk of the mystical land where fae live, no fantasy. Just a bunch historical stuff.
You're starting to scare me a bit. :P I'm still very hopeful, but gonna try to tone my self-hype down a tad just in case. Thank you for letting us know it's more HF than Fantasy without spoilers. <3

Here is the thing: I dgaf about Anne of Brittony. This book is for them. Even still idk if people quite understand what this book is. There isn't a lot of fantasy and it's very subdued.
... but that's also dangerous. :D Because when I know, I know, and the mistakes I notice can kill a book. Yeah, you're right, she's better at creating her own fantasy.
(Haven't cracked this open yet, am desperate to clear my plate already.)
