The author of Hunger Games really pretended to have not known about this book? It's a direct rip-off, there's no way. I was expecting to see Squid Game parallels, but this is literally The Hunger Games almost a decade before The Hunger Games existed. It's like Disney claiming they didn't know about Kimba. Outrageous.

First few pages caught my interest. Starting to get a little cheesy and over-the-top already with the cartoonishly evil teacher/trainer. Waiting for him to start twirling his mustache. I'm hoping it will come back down to more believable territory. I really need this to be a good book.
