Ender was invited to the Battle School located in the Belt. His parents had no say in the matter because they had to sign him over in case the I.F. decided he was to be invited to the school for him to be born. Ender decided to go.

Ender, a six-year old boy is having his monitor removed. His brother, Peter, also had his own monitor. Ender had his for a year longer and this has made Peter hate him. Once the monitor was removed Ender was sent back to class. Ender finds class boring because he knows all the answers. Stilson began making fun of him. After school he is cornered by a group of bullies with Stilson. He beats up Stilson.
