Having read the intro and the epilogue now, I cannot tell you what the thesis here is. The epilogue focuses on the (attempts at) erasure of Vichy's past & renaming streets etc, as well as the presence of the ADMP in places like Petain's resting place + current French politics but doesn't really make a statement? Other than "The petain case is closed." Idk what to make of it..

Half the introduction read a little bit like a novel. I like when monographs do that cuz it's easy to hook me in. But I found the intro to be lacking more discussion of historiography and methodology? He mentioned a book (The Real Trial of Marshal Petain) by "the judge who took over the High Court [after the trial]" but never says the name of the judge?? And hardly discusses the content itself. Umm?? Ok..
