Serious part of this update: This is going to be a hard read. Randy Singer is an excellent writer and storyteller and I’ve already learned a lot. Frivolous part of this update: I also have questions after learning about what Vestal Virgins are—did Vestal Goodman’s parents know what they were? If so, what were they aiming for naming her after a virgin who served in a pagan temple? 😂
