I guess Aberdeen is the highlands but it's not really. "Highland town" is crazy you could be anywhere from Montrose to Ullapool by that definition. When she's worried that everyone is staring at her in the cafe - babe it's probs because you've got an annoying London accent x

"evergreen arrows" took me out of the setting straight away. If it's a standalone tree it's more likely to be a silver birch if it's growing in a peatland or it's a forestry pine which are non native and planted tightly together so that they grow straight up like arrows. Scots pines are wider with sparser branches and they are usually very old and beautiful with these blue grey needles.

I also think she should've just stayed away from setting her story in Scotland because I'm not convinced by her description at all

babe your imaginary highland town is half an hour from Aberdeen it's probably going to look more like a fuck ton of fields with sheep in.
