The opening chapter is magical. The prose is lovely, old timey which forces me to take the time to appreciate it.
The book establishes it itself clearly within the tradition of arthurian legend and situates itself within the christianization of England, the mixing of non-monothesistic religion and Christendom. As opposed to the books which place the fae in Modernity or within the more celtic traditional fae mounds.
