”Oh no,” an all-too-familiar voice says. “You aren’t crying, are you?”
Mar doesn’t bother moving. “Would you leave if I were?” they say into their arms.
“I don’t do … that.”
“Leave?”
“Emotions.”

Haha! Dami is such a delight! But yeah, things aren't looking good right now. I gotta admit that. I'm very curious about the ending now.

The man is trembling from head to toe, pale as a sheet of paper, but his eyes are glued to Mar's gaze. "You'll kill me?" he whimpers.
"Slowly," Mar answers without missing a beat. "I'll be watching you, Emilio. Don't disappoint me."

Wow, Mar is badass! They might not enjoy threatening people, but they are good at it. XD I didn't see this coming, though. Damn, this book is keeping me on my toes!

"I don't understand why you insist on bothering me all the time."
"Oh, that's easy," Bas answers without missing a beat. "I'm a sucker for cute boys."

Bas can be really charming if he wants to. No wonder Mar is having a hard time. *lol* So far this book always took a rather unexpected turn so I'm very curious if it will continue to surprise me.

"Can you change your appearance?"
Dami grins and winks at them. "Perks of being a demonio." They tilt their head. "You have some interesting perks with your magia too. You might want to consider actually using them."

Dami is so mysterious and interesting! Also, I think they know so much more than Mar does! They really should ask them a ton of questions! XD

"Done staring?" the stranger says. "Not that I can blame you - I'd stare at me too. It's not often one encounters someone so stunning."
Even in the cold room, Mar's cheeks warm.

I'm intrigued by Dami and Bas has such an obvious crush on Mar! *lol* The way he's always so happy whenever they are around! Even his father noticed! Mar is so oblivious. Haha!

"Who are you, and why shouldn't I shoot you where you stand?"
"It'd be a shame to stain the wood," Mar answers.

I already like Mar! They are quick-witted, sharp and brave! Also that first scene on the ship was written so well. I could almost feel the storm! Quite the intense start for a book!
