After some reflection, perhaps this is how it needed to be. Wen doesn’t deserve it, but Hilo on his own had the kind of ending that a man like him could expect. It sucks, especially because it was right at the end and he almost made it, but Hilo did a lot of bad things in his life. Maybe that was justice, no matter how much I hate it after growing to like him so much

And Hilo grew so much throughout this series. He deserved a triumphant ending where he could retire and just be happy.
Was taking Ru not enough for poor Wen? We have to take Hilo too?
He’s been the one to root for this whole time. His death added the bitter to a bittersweet ending, but enough bad stuff had happened. He should have lived.
I wanted to rate 5 star, but without Hilo…
I just can’t be satisfied now

Ayt Mada is thoroughly beat and will live the rest of a miserable life with that knowledge, and Niko will be a great Pillar. Jaya will find her way. Shae will step down and be happy somewhere with Papi and Tia
But Wen. She went through so much. Her and Hilo deserved to be able to live the rest of their lives out peacefully. Instead she’s forever alone

Okay that was the first time I’ve really cried in this series. Like I’ve watch Hilo and Wen grow up, get married and have kids. I watched the kids grow up. And now I watched Ru die is something so avoidable. That boy had so much life left to live in unwell

This situation’s hard bc I agree with Hilo but I also agree with Anden. Even though he’s super wrong, Niko still made a choice and losing him completely is not what I think Hilo should do. So to make the best out of a bad situation yes he might have to give in to Niko a bit, as stupid as that is
