Sarah Kendzior is a conspiracy theorist, and her conspiracism—much like the roadside attractions on Route 66–keep punctuating what is otherwise a very personal and beautiful narrative with unnatural stops and starts. She also harbors the conspiracist paradox where the elite plot is so obvious everyone should know of it but she’s also very smart and special for knowing it. I’m still not sure what the plot is
