the craziest thing to me about her stealing a bone from the catacombs is that she's openly writing about it here without any fear. because in the moment she seemed kinda nervous that there would be consequences. ALSO hearing about her doing that before i got to the chapter i'd imagined it to be like a finger or toe...like something small. kinda disappointed to say this is def my least fav enriquez so far..... but i guess i knew going in that it was a travelogue/memoir and i love her for her horror.... some parts are really interesting but some aren't :(

the end of the nola chapter made me realize if enriquez had gone to nola a few years later, or anne rice had died a few years earlier, there UNDOUBTEDLY would have been a section on metarie/lakelawn cemetery and I have no idea how that would make me feel
