First chapter down and I’m reminded very heavily of When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A Parker. And just a tinge of ACOTAR. The writing style, the description of the home. I also feel unattached to Anya, though we are one chapter in. Can’t help but wonder that if, like so many books in this genre, I should remain unattached to Anya so I can guard myself.
