this story is very devastating and emotional

The expectation that things can’t get worse, the disbelief that the terrible stuff that is engulfing us can really be happening, the serene waiting allowing the obvious to be ignored for the evil to take hold and become strong. While we wait for deliverance, we miss the opportunities to resist.

It’s interesting the way this book is written. A bit confusing at the start but I am enjoying it.
