If I shot a rabbit, point-blank in the head, and it started moving around and proceeded to sit back up and stare at me, I think I would just have to leave the country. I don't think there is anything that would keep me from running away as fast as I could. I'm sorry to the friends I leave behind, but absolutely not.

What I admire about Alex is their (kan) ability to actually give thought to what could be unexplained. In the way of some horror stories (and others) try to keep you from guessing the big bad or the twist before the author can reveal it in some grandiose way. But Alex will actually say/think that it could be this should-be impossible thing because realistically, what else would explain it?

Creepy vibes on the level of The Haunting of Bly Manor, and I'm very into it

Obviously, there's going to be a lot of recurring themes relating to mushrooms and fungi in this book, but I never actually expected to be creeped out by it. Now I'm wondering why I wasn't more concerned about it as a whole until now.

"Sometimes it's hard to know if someone is insulting or just and American." So real
