Catherine is 50% done

Riveting so far I am upset I can't continue but I've been reading for nearly 4 hours straight and my eyes burn. The mental state of parents who abuse their children is always so fascinating to me, as someone who was abused. Especially, in cases where the parents have the ability to be good, but are quick to resort to violence. That weird mixture of resentment, fear, and love is so poignant.
