Well that took quite a turn … wtff was the ending
I DID NOT enjoy part 6 at all. It was so random and made no sense … like the whole “love” talks between Addie & the darkness came out of no where.
Them sleeping together & acting like a couple… wtf???? This book had so much potential but the ending was not it. I thought it was going to have a more meaningful ending.

Okay my theory was wrong 😭 but I’m glad it was bc the real twist/truth makes so much more sense.
I did not expect the darkness (dark god, demon?idk what to call him) to make a mistake!! Such a great twist, having Addie & Henry’s deals overlap.
But I also have a lot of questions now 😅 does Henry also have annual visits w the stranger? How exactly does his deal work?

So a quick catch up of thoughts: i literally cheered when Addie was able to say her own name to Henry 🥳 but that brings the question - why?? Why only him? How can he remember her when no one else does?
This is my theory: they’re soulmates

Wow I love the historical aspect of the book from the flashbacks of the 1700s to present 2014. The analysis of how gender has changed overtime.
How the book looks at the theme of the need for human connection 👏🏽
Oh also I literally cried reading the scene when Remy wakes up and Addie is eased from his memory 😢

So the darkness twisted the deal to make Addie so miserable that she gives her soul. Read the fine print before u make deals w the devil.
It was sad reading about her past in 1714 when she tried staying at a tavern but the owner immediately forget her & kicked her out bc she thought she broke in 🙁 the part when Addie had to resort to doing things she didn’t wanna do like selling herself was also very sad.

Wow okay I’m liking the storyline so far!!
“Never pray to the gods that answer after dark.”
Addie making a deal to sell her soul for more time was crazy but the part that was so sad was her being erased from everyone’s memory…
Worst of it was her inability to leave a mark, like she can’t even say her name or even when she has a convo w someone, the second they leave they forget her 😭
