The pacing is so incredibly slow. I feel like I have been reading this foreverrrrrrrr. I might need to try switching to the physical version for a while. That might help. As well, the narrator just speaks slowly but if I try to speed up the narration her vaguely slavic accent gets jumbled.

Ok it took a while, but I am really really liking the book now. I literally squealed with glee when I realized who was at the river bank. I just wish it hadn't taken so long. The physical copy I own is about 500 ish pages, so its interesting it took this long. I read chapter 14 physically and I'm realizing that the audiobook is good but I feel like she is missing some of the nuances in the text itself.

I feel like the plot is finally moving. The first 5 chapters have been incredibly slow. Like taking your time with pacing is fine, but the inciting incident JUST happened.

Loving the vibes. A little confused on what time/where we are set. Granted I am listening to this via audiobook so that might be my own cookery at work. I don't think this book lends itself to audiobook form, as it seems to switch pov during a chapter and the narrator does not give Wanda and Miryam enough differentiation in their voices for me to realize.
