5. “The Manhood of Edward Robinson” - this one was so good. Here’s where the dual approach of Christie as a crime story writer and novelist comes out. Interesting short story of a man lacking confidence with crime story elements. Short and sweet.

7. “Jane in Search of a Job”. I think the premise of the story promised more than the story actually delivered. A typical “doppelgänger” replacement theme.

4. “Sing a Song of Sixpence”. The story I thoroughly enjoyed, but not its ending. I find it counterproductive to write a crime story and introduce the characters as potential murderers and then announce at the end of the story that a person not even once mentioned was guilty. Kind of anticlimax.

Story 2 “Philomel Cottage”. Now that’s an intriguing one. Newlyweds, affair from the past, anxiety looming over abandoned cottage, and an open-ended plot twist with question mark.
