So....when is the tv series being made for this??

Biggest writing difference I'm noticing is the amount of slaves just casually mentioned in this book, without humanizing them AT ALL. Modern fantasy would either give them names and sympathize with their character or not even use the term in the first place. Very interesting.

I'm really noticing the differences between late 80's fantasy books and modern fantasy from 2025

This story is just dang good. I know I would feel like I was drowning being suddenly responsible for all of my people AND trying to outwit my enemies all at the same time. But, Mara still has some personality.

What an explosive first chapter!
