just for him to do exactly what her parents did to her. but worse, because she just became the most vulnerable she’s ever been to another human being and he just left. if i were her i would be in fucking tears, i’m honestly extremely hurt on her behalf. i wouldn’t know how to cope. he built his wall back up like it never came down

and to back track, this does fall under that dreaded trope of “i’ll take anything you give me to have you”. i fucking hate that trope and it absolutely breaks my heart for it to come from Jacob. he deserves to be loved & cared for by someone who makes him shine. this “helping her out” shit & her not just telling him she truly likes him makes me very upset.

We all know Jacob is particularly talented, it’s been hinted at and clearly was just experienced in the prior chapter. so talented in fact that he was blowing through hoes, but they didn’t want to keep him. he wants Eve to be permanent.

she plans to leave him in 3 weeks, just like those other girls did because he was “too much” for them. Jacob is not too much for Eve. he doesn’t know that yet 😭

i’ve NEVER, EVER, had to take a break from reading a chapter like that before. that’s how much it got to me. like i literally could not fucking breathe i was about to turn into Eve there. Jacob. i did not know there was a certain power you possessed. having a boyfriend is embarrassing UNLESS he’s just like Jacob. the praise & attention to detail? it was wraps from the start.

that’s it. that’s the tweet. Eve i would’ve stuttered too if the hot, annoying, sweet, devoted, man called me that to my face. every single word would’ve dropped out of my vocabulary with that one. HE is referring to YOU as sunshine. like warmth from the sky. finding the closest cliff to my location now.

anywho, Jacob trying to talk himself down from kissing Eve bc what happens after? and the fact that kissing —> keeping for him is everything to me! the line about tongues and sudoku is so real, and clearly reflects some past stuff that I KNOW Eve could heal.

l i been said this book was gonna make me cry 😭 i just want to give Eve a hug, cause that’s honestly the closest thing i’ll ever have to holding myself. when you offer someone help you can’t be BAD at helping, even if you don’t know what you’re doing. he’s so gentle with her even as she spirals about the not-good-enough-ness :( i can’t count how many times i’ve torn myself apart for the same thing

i’ve never seen social anxiety described in the EXACT way i have it before. like word for word.
i can talk about it ad nauseam but being a “chameleon” is a sort of internal psychological stress that doesn’t seem like anything unless you experience it. it’s constant worry, observing and pivoting, changing who you are in a heartbeat. i’m grateful Talia has the words i have never been able to say.

Eve helps people, it’s what she does. Jacob clearly appreciates that about her, and in this moment a lot more because of what she did. but the thing that gets me is that he CARES for her despite that, he truly admires her for her personality & smarts, determination, etc. over her ability to help him.
