This is my beach book. To be honest it’s too easy to put down. It’s a good fantasy from the time but I’m finding the genre harder to read as I’ve aged. There’s more to forgive now in order to enjoy it. Honestly I need more from characters these days. The plot so far is pulling me along and I am not committed. Probably going to DNF in favour of more Queer/Feminist characters.

Beach book. I’m far too casually wandering through it - starting to wonder if I’m half hearted rather than exhausted. Still not sure I love it - but still seeing where it goes.

Missed this in the fantasy reading phase of my youth, I can see it’s a little fantasy cliche in places and some of the naming conventions are absurd but I’m still enjoying it. When I consider the worst fantasy books I’ve read ( Dark Heavens Series among them thanks but NO) this is not hitting the barrel bottom … yet … forgivable and enjoyable so far.
