I’m confused by the message of this book so far. It seems like a cautionary tale not to give up your education and career for a man because then he holds all the cards, but right out the gate he says you can keep the house and the kids… so like yeah he’s a cheating ass but you got the kids, the house, and you’re still ultra wealthy so it’s hard to sympathize for most of the story.

I’m finding it increasingly difficult to sympathize with the woman whose great grandfather was the first neurosurgeon and discoverer of Cushing’s disease (it’s named after him), whose grandmother was one of the socialite women famously betrayed by Truman Capote, and her mother was Michael Bloomberg’s director of city planning… like girl you are old money rich
