I’m reading this for a book club, and even though I’ve only read the first chapter, I think it’s safe to say that I’m going to like this read a lot.

Chapter 7 is beautiful. The art of loving, giving, and sharing was detailed so wonderfully in this - after ready I just had to hold the book close to my heart.
You’re richer when you can share in an experience and a feeling with someone else - a loved one, a friend, a stranger, or an exquisitely handsome eighty-six-year-old man.

The descriptive writing in this story is so vivid and paints a beautiful understanding of the scene.

I love the concept of giving life to these portraits.
Obviously they’re inspired by real people, but the line, “At night, when the shop is closed, the faces in the portraits leave their frames, step inside the shop, mingle, talk about who and what they’ve see or overheard that day, share stories, and then return home by opening,” I found very poetic.
(Also reminded me of the portraits in Harry Potter lol)
