i know this book was going to have some character development but the foolishness and carelessness of the mmc (the father) was annoying like being late to pick up your kids and making them late to things is crazy to the point your child has to remind your ass. also when he didn’t pick up his kids and their teacher (mmc) offered he got so mad and basically cursed her out like bitch

also it would have been something if his wife left but she dead.. malachi again left a horrible taste in my mouth. and the principle airing out the mmc’s business wasn’t necessary like why tell strangers she lost her sister. then this dumbass mmc wants to approach her with her first name mind you after being mean and not apologizing and trying to sympathize with her.. fuck outta here boy
