This needed a prequel. The second half of this book is more interesting but the crux remains that I don’t care because I don’t know these people.

Hmm. I would dnf if it wasn’t a buddy read. This is very YA, annoying impulsive typical stabby FMC and the morally grey MMC. This reads more like rivals to lovers because there’s not enough background to explain why she hates Vampires to begin with. And his first attack is to prank her by putting her on the roof? Come on. I am to blame. I didn’t read the blurb and expected an adult vampire novel. My bad
