Dude is politicizing enthusiastically about how humans have negatively impacted Mount Hood and he is so so close to recognizing that settler colonialism is at the root of this and he just. can’t. get there. I may throw my knitting across the room.

Wait…now we’re talking about settler colonialism as a neutral/mildly positive thing. I may not finish this. My new rule for mountain books is: if you’re going to try to get political, you need to demonstrate rudimentary knowledge of basic history.

If your whole REASON for writing your book is political — in this case, ✨environmentalism💖 and raising awareness about climate change, I am *absolutely* going to hold your overall politics to a higher standard. Which, in this case, you are failing to meet.
