Klune is missing the mark big time with this and it concerns me that he wrote this AFTER Cerulean because I have another of his books on my shelf. The banter between Victor, Rambo and Nurse Ratchet is unfunny and cringey. It’s also distracting from everything else. The target audience isn’t 11-year old boys so I don’t know where he’s coming from with all of that.

Man, I don’t know about this. Klune is trying very hard to be charming and endearing, but I’m getting secondhand embarrassment. Robots and penis jokes DO NOT MIX. I’m interested enough in Giovanni and whatever he was running from to keep reading, but I think the “characters” are going to annoy me. My first impression is that this book is gonna be…corny.
