This section of the book destroyed me. Macy and Elliott's history's unfolding in a way that's both beautiful and sad, and Elliott's quiet thoughts hurt me the most. The quote “I loved you in secret” (p.252) broke me so much. The timelines are finally colliding, and I'm predicting a huge reveal about their past that might break the ice about why the truly left each other in the first place and find love again.

Macy who is engaged to Sean struggles to with memories of Elliot that she wishes not to have. I feel like her love for Sean isn't true like her old love for Elliot. I reacted hard when she said "I've wanted to see him every day. But also I never wanted to see him again" (p.26). I think Macy and Sean will end and Elliot and her will soon forgive each other and will remain in peace and renew their love that they have.
