Here's a question for you readerly sort: how many books do you read at a time and why?
I usually have three books going: the main book I'm reading, an audiobook for when I'm driving/working on something mindless, and a book my husband and I read aloud to each other one chapter at a time. Sometimes I'll have an ebook in the works too, but usually four or more books at a time feels like too much of a juggling act.

Two seems to be my average, or sometimes three. Often one will be nonfiction, for pleasure or research, and the other fiction—or sometimes I'll take a while to read through one long, substantial novel, like a classic of some sort, and read various lighter books on the side throughout.
