Riley thinks Nowhere is dangerous bc the children seem to fear Leaf Winham and bc Nowhere “makes you forget things like caution, and fear.”

The gate to Nowhere is topped with barbed wire and speared animals. Marc doesn’t seem to appreciate the gravity of the situation, despite the testimonies of bloodletting and kidnapping. He thinks they’re safe going to Nowhere because only kids live there
