Speaking just of the prose and style, this is one of the best books I've ever read. I struggled to match its speed at first. It isn't that it is boring, per se, but that it's almost like a 200 page long poem and you just can't read it faster or slower than each handful of words demands to be read in order to be appreciated. If you can meet it there, it's absolutely exceptional writing.
