This is outrageous to say the least. I’ll start with the most important:
1) victim blaming by Athena. It is bad enough to be happening at all, but to put a goddess in the position of sexual assault victim blaming is unacceptable and immoral to say the least. Phrases like “has to accept a level of responsibility”, “she was in the city alone” and worst of all “she was all but asking something to happen”

2) For the second time, the author mentions the city’s shoreline. The first time was when Medusa and Apollonia were walking up to the Acropolis, looking out to the sea. THERE IS NO SEA in Athens. The closest sea is in Piraeus, which these days back then (and even now) is considered another town, connected to Athens through a long road, several km away (about 18-20). Has the author ever even seen a MAP of Athens?
