Quinn and Max are still cuties and I want them to be happy. The way Rune and Addam treat them like their sons, is just so cute.
Now, the uncomfortable part. I'm a bit bothered by the Rune/Addam/Brand situation. It was fine in the last book, because the lines were clear. But this book jumped over that line constantly. I don't like that Addam has to forever settle being second best because of the companion bond.

Overall, I'm still amazed at this worldbuilding and magic system that we explored even more in this book. I'm assuming the next book has a lot of time magic, considering the title, but it's also the last book in the trilogy (I know there are 9 books planned), so I'm expecting a good conclusion to some of these storylines at least.

He pretends to be fine because he loves Rune and wants things to work, but if this continues than I don't see a happy ending for them. He deserves better and Rune has to understand this. The "talla" storyline has to come back and solve this issue because I don't think I can take Addam having his heart broken. It's Runes favorite part of him, so better treat it right 🫵

I actually like that the hanged man wasn't some op villain even tho he was hyped up so much. It makes sense for the story for Rune to solve cases, and when he does, he finds unexpected vulnerabilities that helps him defeat the villain. It's not some deus ex machina situation.
I am a bit disappointed that we didn't get any development about Runes case that started in the last book with Ashton.

Well, I'm a bit conflicted with this book. The first half kinda dragged, but it started picking up when they found Layne and the hanged man finally showed up.
The final battle was honestly better than the last book because all of the big players were there. I loved the introduction to all of the Arcana. And now we know one of them is involved with the destruction of Runes court, can't wait for that reveal 👀

Addam deserves so much more than just settling. I know he says hes fine with it, but I'm not. I'm kinda disappointed in Rune in this scene 😔
This better be delved further into in book 3

So who at the arcanum is the big bad villain? Honestly, can't rule out anyone. Even the emperor who is supposed to be dead. I don't wanna say it, but a certain powerful man comes to mind 🫣

This is only the second book and Rune has adopted 4 kids so far, 5 if you count Quinn (but that's a shared custody with Addam).
How many kids will he have by the end of this series?

Honestly, I don't think anyone deserves Addam, not even Rune. Not yet at least, but he better prove me wrong in the next book istg
