And sister gets her salvation. Goes from being a homeless alcoholic named sister creep to literally sacrificing her life to save the world. Gets carted out and dies as the sun finally shines on the earth for some reason for the first time in a decade.

And then Roland literally worships MWSE as his mask is removed and he’s revealed to be an ancient, hideous being (his face is described as a festering sore), and he turns into an icy lightning bolt and shoots out through the ceiling leaving them to die. Roland begs him to take him too.

And then macklins repentance monologue after he realizes his legacy is one pit to the next only for him to die literally in a tomb under a mountain. And then Roland shooting him in the back and crying when friend tells him to.

Prez tells a story about how he fell from heaven and remembered the underground river on Warwick mountain. And then MWSE walks up to him and shoots him in the head because he’s the only one that can stop the nukes and he’s just whisked away by the underground river. And Roland being insane and laughing at his new god killing someone. My jaw DROPPED.

And god is the president who is also nuts. Has a nuclear missile that will throw the earth off its axis and kill the entire planet. He concedes that evil has won because MWSE has found them and that they must use the nuclear missile to start over. And actually the man with the Scarlett eye is happy about this because it will destroy the earth. Swan and sister are the only true goo for man?

I haven’t been journaling for awhile but wow this book is unbelievably good. God ends up being the president and under warwick mountain is like a secret military base or something.

OMG and the man in the purple robe turns out to be lord Alvin, who we’ve seen signage about for like 50 pages now. The payoff is just insane with this book.

Ok and then they get captured and the crowd parts and out comes a HUGE Neanderthal, and two big dudes carrying a man on a toilet throne who has long blonde hair and a long blonde beard who is seemingly their king. Mccammons storytelling is so incredible I laughed out loud at the absurdity of this but the level of detail he gives you is incredible.

And then immediately after the intercom goes off and hordes of disfigured and/or insane people (giant and dwarf) people come running at them presumably to eat them???

Wow the scene with the department store and mannequins with real severed heads goes absolutely insane. Wow wow wow
