I'm about thiiiis close to DNF'ing this word salad. Why just say what's going on when you can doily it up with 300 awkward metaphors per page? "Her thoughts were heavy like river stones," as in, how are river stones specifically more heavy than any other type of rock?? And also, because it's happened twice in this one chapter, heads up for the author: regardless of superpowers, YOU CAN'T HEAR OWLS FLY!!
