I don’t know if I just haven’t been paying attention or if it’s the first person aspect of the novel but for some reason, I just always thought that Yaoi was like in her mid 20s and not like just barely 20

I have lost the plot… Like I get that we’re on the search for Yukino and that this all stems from Yayoi’s premonition (hence the title) but I can’t tell if this is an add-on to the Yayoi and Tetsuo getting together or whether trying to remember the past is the main plot or what… like where tf did Matsuhiko come from and what’s his relevance other than the HS kid she had a fling with???

I feel like there’s simultaneously so much happening and nothing happening in this plot like I can understand that Yayoi has this like ability where she can either have visions or see the future or something like that but like where the hell did this like car accident that killed her parents come from?

OK, maybe it’s just this book specifically that seems to be a lot slower paced than her other works I’ve read and very in my opinion unnecessarily detailed… Like why did I need to know that they were eating flan with soup spoons

You see… I do really enjoy Yoshimoto sensei’s writing but. I just cannot stand the narration when I’m listening to an audiobook. I think that’s what takes me out of it because when I read moshi moshi I had quite a fun time annotating and relating to it w my own voice narrating it in my head but for some reason for this and dead-end memories the narrator sounds so dull and bored..
