I think what has just happened is the point of no return. I’ll make some comparisons now.

Darrow in iron gold = eren jaeger season 4 attack on titan (first half)

Mistborn series = 1-3 of red rising saga
Stormlight archives = book 4, iron gold.

Darrow is becoming quite the anti-hero. So many things are in motion. I love this book. What a horrible decision Darrow has just made.

Might be too soon to make this declaration but this may be my favourite book of 2026.

In morning star we saw darrow make several incredibly hard decisions for the sake of the rebellion. It’s one of the reasons I liked the book so much - it felt very real in terms of the sacrifices that must be made in revolutions.

Now we are seeing the impact of darrow’s decisions in a horrifying way.
