I told myself I'd try to read a read a non-manga book in Japanese this year. Someone on the internet mentioned this as a relatively easy read, plus it won the Akutagawa Prize last year. I ordered a print copy from Amazon Japan so I could write in pronunciation and meaning for words I don't know.
