At ten chapters into the second book of this series I can confidently say I see what all my friends were talking about. The hype is justified. I feel like I psychosomatically taste blood during some of these fight scenes with how they’re written. But GODDAMNIT, Pierce Brown PLEASE stop ripping my heart out at every corner. Can my boy Darrow please catch a fucking break? But like also, great work, fam.

I’m usually not a fan of a plot that lives this fast but I am SO invested that I’m absorbing every twist and turn. Also these little coming out moments that Darrow has where he tells people his secret are really getting my heart going. First Sevro. Now Ragnar 😭
