Getting into the nitty gritty of the development of parliament. In general the impression is that governors were drunk, power obsessed, racist, classist and brutal. Tasmania maintained transportation of convicts long past everyone else and the gold rush seemed to have promoted a solidarity in the more working class. Brutality against Indigenous people seemed consistent and almost unchecked by government.
