I appreciate all the context, but I wish the author wasn’t so judgy about some of the looks. Why does she get to say that some looks or colored tights are “bad”? I’m not into the cropping of parts of photos she doesn’t like and the implication that there’s a du foe right way to wear certain things, especially when so much of the point was that Lady Di rebelled against what she was expected to wear.

This is one of the places it feels like a stretch—red might be the color of love and war, but it feels reductive to assume Diana was a honking of either of these things when she chose that color.
