It’s weird - I love this story but I taking forever to get thru it. This is a hard book to read. Especially as a person of color. All this cruelty - it’s much harder than the scary ghost to deal with. But definitely 5 stars so far.

Sooooo. Been reading this book form quite a while now and I am only thru the first third of the book. Why? This book a hard to read. As a person of color, these slavery/Jim Crow things disturb me. But in terms of horror, this book is great so far. The back story and the ghost themselves are amazing.
