Ok went back and read the introduction (mistake). Ik introductions for classics are meant to be read at the end (dumb) but thought I was far enough along (wrong) to avoid spoilers.

I also forget how stupid easy it was to get into grad school back then

masters calling academia an asylum is so fitting; ive had similar feelings in different words. they were not made for the world so they made their own. his analysis is p fitting imo

man ive had bauklötze stuck in my head today and have been thinking of a sad oneshot that focused on leaves and grief (one million springs, iykyk) and the sonnet took me back to that so I took like a solid five minutes just rereading bc I kept thinking of that

his feeling of pity mixed with distant love :(

also the way his life was summarized so simply in the beginning lowkey reminded me of OMS too :((
