Tony Lawrence I 'found' Maggie O'Farrell 2 years ago - yes Hamnet - and have enjoyed 2 other books since then (and 2 more on my shelf tar). No doubt I will work my way crabwise through her back catalogue to this debut ... and I hope to see her at the Chester LitFest in June!

This was only my third by her (The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox in early 2023 and The Marriage Portrait in late 2024), and they've all been very good. I picked this one up in a charity shop and later realised it was her first novel. Impressive.

Tony Lawrence Thanks @Cecily I can also recommend I Am, I Am, I Am, and Instructions for a Heatwave, so that covers most of her books between us :) I meant 'tbr' (to-be-read)
