This is sad: Hans Knabbertsbusch and Richard Strauss (whose music I listen to) sign a letter published in a newspaper, on Mann's intellectual treason, after he gives a lecture that tries to rescue Wagner from the Hitleresque interpretations (cultural fightback). He realises he has to leave Germany.
