Shadow and Bone is very skippable! It does provide a bit of background knowledge but honestly it isn’t that necessary

it would be fun for the world building if you read s&b first (also cuz SOC has mild spoilers from s&b) but honestly? its fine! i read the six of crows duology first and had the time of my life fr. afterwards it made me more curious about the grishaverse so i read the s&b trilogy hehe

I mean you can read soc but I recommend reading sab first since the world building would be easier to understand that way. And if you decide to read sab after soc you’ll get some major spoilers. AND you’ll miss daddy nikolai mhm

Girl i read six of crows directly and it's one of my god tier series! So i don't think it makes much of a difference. I am thinking of reading shadow and bone for my reread of six of crows this year tho.
