Saw the author speak last week. I picked up this book after.

It started strong, but it has too many side plots. The beginning—someone in men’s clothes and beard wakes up in some type of underground prison—hooked me. +the Mayor and his family too.

All that happened at the beginning of the book sticks out more than what I’ve recently read.

I’ll make myself finish it tomorrow and I’ll add my review.
