there is so much Gender in here. i’m like halfway through and most of it has been read aloud to a transfemme. pentheus wanting to send the army after the bacchae feels equivalent to the australian army having a war against emus. also he is getting maliciously feminized. this is glorious reading.

idek what translation this has me reading. probably Anne Carson. I will be done with my reading of this play within the next day or two and it’s school work but I feel like it deserves to count for goodreads reading just because of how much fun it is
